From 1 January 2027, the period that an employee can claim they were unfairly dismissed drops from 2 years after being hired to just 6 months.
So, even though the rules don’t change until January, it affects every person you employ from now.
The compensation cap is being removed in January too, making compensation potentially unlimited if a tribunal awards a claim.
